FM 101.9 Record Store Day 2019 Guide

The Top 10 Picks

April 11, 2019

Record Store Day 2019 is upon us, coming up Saturday, April 13, 2019, and with over 400 releases determining what records you want to snag can be a little daunting. We at FM 101.9 put together our Top 10 list (in no particular order) to help make your planning a little easier.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade is Dead
My Chemical Romance's last live performance previously released on CD/DVD is available for the first time on double vinyl and includes a death certificate.

Kool Keith - Complicated Trip
This album features multiple etchings - one that's playable and one that's hidden under the label; and parallel grooves that will play either the original or instrumental version depending on where the needle is dropped.

Weezer - Weezer (Teal Album) & Dusty Gems and Raw Nuggets
Both albums pressed on vinyl for the very first time.

Morrissey - Lover-To-Be
The description reads - exclusive clear red 7" with unreleased track 'I Thought You Were Dead'

I Know What You Did Last Summer Soundtrack
I have a question for you... Who wouldn't want this soundtrack on vinyl? I mean it has everyone on it from Our Lady Peace to Type O Negative, and L7 (who have another RSD exclusive release) to Korn. It's everything a 90s soundtrack should be, was, and needs to be.

Foo Fighters - Big Me
The Foo jump in on the 3" record craze this year. The 3" single comes in a picture sleeve with a collectible poster.

Pepper - Pink Crustaceans & Good Vibrations
The 2008 release appears on vinyl for the first time. And, it's colored vinyl. I've read that it's clear with pink splatter as well pink vinyl with metallic sleeves. I guess we will just have to wait and see which it is.

Modest Mouse - Poison The Well
We've heard the song. It was released at the end of March. It's good. Grab it for the B-side 'I'm Still Here,' and because it's pressed on mint green vinyl, and because it's shape is triangular.

The Struts - Young & Dangerous
FM 101.9 faves The Struts put out their 2nd album on gold vinyl!

Benjamin Gibbard - Me and Magdalena
The Death Cab For Cutie lead singer releases two unreleased covers from two seperate sessions with the late Richard Swift. Proceeds from the record benefit the Swift family, MusiCares, and Mussic Support UK.
