What Could It Look Like When Disney World And Universal Are Ready To Reopen?

A proposed plan would move through multiple phases.

April 29, 2020

There have been a lot of questions surrounding the re-opening of Disney World and Universal theme parks in Orlando since their closure due to Coronavirus in mid-March.  There were massive layoffs and furloughsand projections on when the parks could reopen have even suggested as late as January 2021

As we wait for Governor DeSantis' official rollout plan to re-open Florida (expected later today - Wednesday, April 29th), and the current Stay At Home order is set to expire tomorrow, the Orange County Economic Task Force got together to propose a plan of what it might look like when the parks re-open.

Here's the jest of it:
- Will reopen in phases. Each phase will last 2 weeks with 1 week in-between to monitor potential outbreaks. PHASE 1 has the parks at 50% capacity, and PHASE 2 at 75%.
- All employees required to wear facemasks
- Touchless hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere
- Temperature checks for all staff before and after their shifts
- Wiping down all railings/surfaces all the time
- Staff over 65 years old will be asked to stay home
